The National Fire Fighter Near-Miss Reporting System, a program managed by the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC), and TargetSafety, the U.S. leader in online, enterprise risk management solutions, have partnered to promote safety among fire and EMS departments nationwide. TargetSafety and VCOS Announce a $1.5 Million Online Training Grant for U.S. Volunteer and Combination Fire Departments

TargetSafety and the Volunteer & Combination Officers Section (VCOS), a section of the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC), today announced the availability of a $1.5 million training grant for volunteer and combination fire departments in the U.S.
The grant will provide these departments with six months of free access to TargetSafety’s PreventionLink™ platform. This access includes 15 hours of online, essential firefighter training, covering such topics as NFPA-approved fire curriculum and EMS continuing education as well as OSHA, human resources and general safety courses. It also includes web-based tools that enable a fire chief or training officer to assign, track and record all training as well as manage and document required tasks, such as vehicle and equipment inspections and departmental policy and procedure review. FASNY Partners with TargetSafety to Deliver Online Training to New York’s Volunteer Firefighters

The Firemen’s Association of the State of New York (FASNY) and TargetSafety, a U.S. leader in online, enterprise risk management solutions for public entities, today announced the introduction of a web-based training program for New York’s volunteer firefighters. The FASNY Firefighter Safety Annual Refresher program is a custom course designed to meet the yearly, non-practical safety requirements mandated by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), as well as the Public Employee Safety and Health Bureau (PESH), for the approximately 95,000 volunteer firefighters in the state.
